Senator Jerry Moran (R-Kansas) is in his third term in the United States Senate where he was first elected in 2010. Previously, Sen. Moran served in the U.S. House for 14 years.  Senator Moran attended Fort Hays State University and graduated from the University of Kansas where he got his degree in economics and later a law degree. Before entering politics, Senator Moran worked in the banking industry.

Throughout his career, Senator Moran has been a vocal advocate for agriculture and rural development and has worked to support Kansas farmers and ranchers. Senator Moran sits on the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture. This is important because it funds programs in the Dept. of Agriculture, including the federal crop insurance program. He has worked to support the availability and affordability of crop insurance by advocating for federal policies and funding that help sustain the crop insurance program. Senator Moran helps to create a supportive and stable environment for the crop insurance industry to operate in.
