The House this afternoon passed a continuing resolution (CR) to fund the federal government through December 16, 2022 by a vote of 230-201. An extension of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), set to expire tonight, Friday, September 30 at 11:59pm, was included in the bill. The Senate passed the bill earlier this week.
The CR now goes to the White House where the president is expected to sign it into law before the deadline. Once signed into law, the new expiration date for the NFIP will be December 16, 2022.
