The U.S. Senate tonight passed H.R.6119, a continuing resolution (CR) to fund the federal government until February 18 by a vote of 69-28. An extension of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), set to expire this coming Friday, December 3 at midnight, was included in the bill. The House of Representatives already passed the bill earlier on December 2.

Once signed into law, the new expiration date for the NFIP will be February 18, 2022.
