Member Spotlight: Rep. Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (R-PA)

Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson was elected to the House of Representatives in 2008 to represent the 5th Congressional District of Pennsylvania.  Before his career in Congress, Rep. Why He’s Important to Agents

Rep. Thompson serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture in the 118th Congress. This position gives him significant influence over the federal crop insurance program, the most important issue in the Farm Bill for agents. PIA supports the vital role of independent agents in the delivery of crop insurance.

Before becoming its Chairman, Rep. Thompson was a member of the House Committee on Agriculture for over a decade, in which time he served as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Conservation and Forestry, as well as on the Subcommittee on Nutrition. Rep. Thompson also served as the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on General Farm Commodities and Risk Management.
