The U.S. Senate passed a $1.5 trillion omnibus federal government spending package Thursday night to fund the federal government to September 30, 2022. An extension of National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) was included in this bill, also to September 30. The House passed the bill on March 9.

The bill now goes to the White House where the president is expected to sign it into law before midnight tonight. Once signed into law, the new expiration date for the NFIP will be September 30, 2022.
