In a major victory for PIA National’s advocacy efforts, the year-end federal funding package included several of PIA’s top legislative priorities and will have a positive effect on our members! Specifically:

• The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) was extended until September 30, 2020.
• The Cadillac Tax was permanently repealed.
• The Terrorism Risk Insurance Program (referred to as TRIA) was extended through the end of 2027.

While we’re pleased to announce these advocacy touchdowns, we don’t have time for elaborate end-zone celebrations. We are already hard at work on advancing our other legislative priorities, including a long-term reauthorization of the NFIP.
